CHINNOR’S fixture at Rams tomorrow night has been postponed due to a Covid outbreak within the Thame-based side’s senior squad.

Players are now following Government guidance with regards to isolation and testing, a club statement confirmed.

The club has been working with National League Rugby and Rams, with the fixture now to be played in the new year.

A club statement read: “The health and safety of staff, players and spectators remains paramount and Chinnor RFC Thame continually takes all necessary steps to protect all where possible.

“We wish everyone who has been affected by this terrible virus a speedy recovery and our thoughts go out to them.”

The match was due to be the first game livestreamed on the National League Rugby website, in addition to its Facebook and Twitter channels.

Anyone who has purchased a ticket for the match at Rams will be refunded in due course.

This weekend’s Wildboys and Outlaws games are also set to be postponed, while the Kites’ match on Sunday has been called off.

The opening of the clubhouse and continuation of rugby activity is under review.

Rams have arranged to play Brunel University instead tomorrow, with entry free.
