BANBURY United eased to a 4-0 win at Tamworth to keep their status as the only unbeaten side in Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.

Ben Taylor was called into action after six minutes, while Chris Wreh sent an effort wide with 20 minutes gone.

The latter made the breakthrough on 42 minutes, shooting from 25 yards following good build-up play.

Andy Whing’s side made it two just before half-time when Jack Stevens headed home.

The visitors were three up eight minutes into the second half when Giorgio Rasulo fired in a low effort.

Henry Landers added a fourth on 69 minutes, calmly finishing one-on-one.

The result keeps Banbury in third place.

It came after midfielder Alex Babos signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay with the Puritans to the end of the campaign.

In Division 1 Central, Didcot Town ended a six-match winless run with a 2-1 victory at AFC Dunstable.

Second-half goals from Adam Learoyd and Jamar Smith put Didcot 2-0 up, before a late consolation from Sam McClelland set up a tense finale.

Wantage Town conceded late on as they drew 1-1 at home to Berkhamsted.

Alex Henshall scored his first goal for the club on 38 minutes, however an 85th-minute equaliser denied them a much-needed three points.

Two more Oxfordshire sides are in Division 1 Central action tonight.

Kidlington, currently sat 18th, have a tricky trip to eighth-placed Aylesbury United.

Thame United visit Biggleswade, who are one position below them in 14th.
