FORMER Oxford United striker Jefferson Louis has joined North Leigh.

The Millers are the 41st club of the 42-year-old’s extraordinary career, which started back in 1996.

Louis has dropped down a level to sign for fellow ex-U’s player Eddie Odhiambo, having moved from Pitching In Southern League Premier South side Beaconsfield Town.

He has already scored twice at Eynsham Park this season in his previous side’s 2-0 Southern League Cup win last month.

Director of football Craig Dore told North Leigh's official website: “I am delighted Jeff has agreed to be part of what we’re trying to build here at North Leigh.

“A striker we have admired and had on our radar for some time now, he has a commanding presence up front and, with a natural eye for goal, he is a player who is very difficult to defend against.

“He also possesses a wealth of footballing experience, which will be invaluable for the younger members of the first team.”

The veteran’s former clubs include Oxford City and Thame United, while he was with United from 2002 to 2004.

Louis bagged ten goals in 64 games under Ian Atkins and is best remembered for the part he played in an FA Cup win over Swindon Town in December 2002.

The forward scored the only goal of the second round tie, before BBC TV cameras captured him dancing naked in the Kassam Stadium dressing room after United were drawn away at Arsenal, the team he supported.
