EDDIE Pepperell’s late charge secured a top-50 finish at the Mallorca Open.

The Frilford Heath member birdied four of his last six holes to end an inconsistent fourth round on a high at Golf Santa Posa.

It took Pepperell to two-under par for the final day and three-under for the tournament, seeing him tie for 40th.

Starting at the tenth, the Abingdon golfer began and ended his third round one-under.

Pepperell bogeyed the 12th and 14th, but three birdies either side of the turn gave him momentum before another dropped shot at the seventh.

A bogey at the par-five tenth, followed by a birdie at the 11th, set the tone for a roller coaster final day.

Pepperell picked up a shot at the 13th, but a double-bogey at the par-four 16th and another dropped shot at the 18th saw him fall back.

The 30-year-old did not let it affect him, though, and birdies at the fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth saw him end the weekend strongly.

Pepperell’s next scheduled competition is the Portugal Masters, which starts on November 4.
