KARL Robinson will miss Oxford United’s next two matches after his PCR test came back positive for coronavirus.

The U’s head coach watched Tuesday’s win over Shrewsbury Town from home as he waited for the result, following a positive lateral flow test on Monday.

It means Robinson will isolate until next Thursday, when he will have completed the required ten-day period.

He will therefore not attend United’s Sky Bet League One trip to Burton Albion on Saturday, the Papa John’s Trophy visit of Tottenham Hotspur Under 21s three days later or any training sessions in that time.

Assistant manager Craig Short and club captain John Mousinho will take charge of the side for both games, having done so against Shrewsbury.

Robinson watched the 2-0 victory on a live stream and was in phone contact with the U’s bench, as well as the players at half-time.
