THE side Karl Robinson sends out to face Plymouth Argyle tomorrow will be one of his most interesting selections this season.

Last month, the U’s boss said he had not selected his ‘strongest’ starting XI this campaign.

Injuries, illnesses and international call-ups have restricted who Robinson at his disposal and before the 5-1 drubbing of Accrington Stanley, he said ‘there’s a lot of different combinations that maybe haven’t seemed to fit together just yet’.

Tomorrow, Robinson will be able to use whatever combination he wants with everyone fit and raring to go.

Earlier this week, Gavin Whyte and Marcus McGuane returned to training after completing time in isolation, while Billy Bodin and Sam Winnall also took part after recovering from non-Covid illnesses.

Jamie Hanson is also back after dislocating his shoulder in pre-season.

It makes for an intriguing team sheet against the league leaders.

Good opposition who play a back three could influence Robinson’s decisions but expect the starting XI to be Robinson’s preferred line-up.
