ONE of TV’s stars of 2021 will be among the special guests at next Sunday’s memorial match for Micky Lewis.

Kaleb Cooper, from Chipping Norton, shot to fame on the Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm, which follows Jeremy Clarkson’s attempts to run a farm in the West Oxfordshire countryside.

He will take turns in goal for the Oxford United Legends, made up of stars Lewis coached and played with, in the ‘One for the Road’ charity game at the Kassam Stadium on October 10.

Also attending will be legendary broadcaster Jim Rosenthal and actor son Tom, star of Friday Night Dinner and Plebs, who are both U’s fans.

Both were good friends with Lewis, who died aged 56 in March from a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer.

His 27-year association with United included more than 350 appearances as a player, two stints as caretaker manager and many more roles.

But Lewis’s influence went far beyond the club, coaching the Oxford University men’s team and Oxford City’s Velocity football and education programme, among others.

The first half of the game will see a team of U’s legends from the 1990s, including Joey Beauchamp, Matt Elliott and Paul Moody, face an Oxford City ‘All Stars XI’.

Former City defender and 2020 Love Island winner Finn Tapp could be involved, subject to filming commitments.

A U’s team featuring several stars from the side that gained promotion back to the Football League in 2010 will take to the field for the second half.

Lewis was assistant to Chris Wilder during that era and the play-off winning side will face the university team, who he coached for 18 years.

All proceeds from the game will go to his wife Suzanne and son Zach.
