BANBURY Bulls and Oxford Harlequins maintained their perfect starts in South West 1 East.
The Oxfordshire rivals sit second and fourth respectively and are two of just four clubs to win their opening two games.
All matches staged a minute’s applause for Henley Hawks forward Dave Hyde, who used to play for Witney, following his sudden death the previous weekend.
There were six different try-scorers as Banbury comfortably beat visitors Beaconsfield 40-12.
Dan Brady, Duncan Leese and Tommy Gray scored before the break, giving the hosts a 19-7 lead.
Tom MacDonald, Chris Davies and Jacob Mills crossed after the break.
Meanwhile, Quins beat Frome 43-23 in their first home match of the season.
Grove did not play on the opening weekend so began their campaign at Marlborough, losing 50-25, while Witney were beaten 61-12 by visitors Newbury Blues.
Several Oxfordshire clubs do not begin their seasons until September 25 and are still finalising their pre-season preparations.
Wheatley were edged out 33-42 by Cirencester, after losing Jordan Hook and Jack Smith to early injuries.
Jack Taylor and Sanda Mpanza each crossed twice, with Simon Chadbone also scoring.
