MORE than 8,000 supporters watched Oxford United beat Charlton Athletic as the Kassam Stadium opened with unrestricted numbers for the first time since February 2020.
A crowd of 8,440 (1,373 away) saw Ryan Williams and Cameron Brannagan give the U’s a 2-0 lead.
Conor Washington scored a penalty to make it 2-1, but United held on for a memorable win in front of returning supporters.
