OXFORD United are rated less likely to win Sky Bet League One than they were at the start of the summer.

In June, the U’s were joint-seventh favourites to claim the title at 14/1 with Sky Bet, but they are now ninth at 16/1.

That is despite the signings of Steve Seddon, Nathan Holland, Gavin Whyte and Jordan Thorniley in the last fortnight, although that is just one of several factors affecting bookies’ odds.

There have been other notable changes among the front-runners since June.

Matty Taylor: Oxford United focusing on starting this season better

Ipswich Town were fourth in the list at 9/1 two months ago, but they are now joint-favourites with Sunderland at 7/1.

The Tractor Boys have made several eye-catching signings, including former AFC Wimbledon striker Joe Pigott and Conor Chaplin from Barnsley.

Wigan Athletic finished one point above the relegation zone last season amid ownership uncertainty, but their transfer business has catapulted them up to equal fourth favourites with Charlton Athletic at 11/1.

The Latics’ notable signings include Charlie Wyke from Sunderland and Jack Whatmough, who was previously at Portsmouth.

United are 5/1 to gain promotion and 15/8 to finish in the top six.
