JACK Stevens is reportedly on the radar of Premier League club Aston Villa.
The Sun on Sunday claims the top-flight outfit have their eye on the U’s goalkeeper after losing Tom Heaton to Manchester United and transfer target Paulo Gazzaniga joined Fulham.
Stevens caught the attention of higher-division clubs for his displays after replacing Simon Eastwood as United’s No 1 last season.
He claimed 13 clean sheets in Sky Bet League One following his promotion to the first-team in December, helping the U’s climb from the relegation zone to the play-offs.
Those displays earned Stevens a new three-year contract, which he signed in February.
There had already been serious interest from above League One in the January transfer window.
United have lost two members of their 2020/21 first-choice back five, with Rob Atkinson joining Bristol City and Josh Ruffels leaving for Huddersfield Town.
Eastwood is United’s only other senior goalkeeper and also signed a three-year deal last season.
