JACOB Bancroft has returned to Oxford City on a two-year deal.
The striker left Court Place Farm for Sky Bet League Two side Stevenage in January, but did not make a first-team appearance and was released at the end of the season.
Five months later, the 20-year-old has moved in the opposite direction to become David Oldfield's third summer signing.
Bancroft, who is a Swindon Town youth product, had a spell with Wantage Town in Pitching In Southern League Division 1 Central before first joining City last summer.
He scored the winner in his first competitive game, a 2-1 triumph at Royal Wootton Bassett Town in the Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round.
Although he was mostly used as a substitute, Bancroft left his mark in his final two City appearances.
He scored twice and claimed an assist in the space of eight minutes as Oldfield's men beat Haringey Borough 4-2 in the Buildbase FA Trophy fourth round.
Bancroft added another goal in a 5-3 win at Hemel Hempstead Town three days later.
The forward will link-up with City for pre-season training as they prepare for their first friendly at Thame United on Saturday, July 10.
The Vanarama National League South campaign kicks-off on Saturday, August 14.
