OXFORD United will visit Oxford City for a pre-season friendly next month – and fans are set to be allowed in.

The U’s face David Oldfield’s side at Court Place Farm on Friday, July 16, with kick-off at 7pm.

It will be the first time City have played in front of fans since last December, although capacity will be limited by coronavirus restrictions.

Ticket details will be released when government guidelines surrounding social distancing are confirmed.

But it is still likely to be the biggest crowd to watch a game at Court Place Farm since at least March 2020, with a maximum of 200 allowed for the two matches in December.

United’s 5-3 win at City in July 2019 attracted 797 supporters and there has not been a higher attendance at the ground since.

The sides met in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the U's training ground last August, with Matty Taylor’s double and Cameron Brannagan’s strike securing a 3-0 triumph.
