EDDIE Pepperell will hope a disappointing back nine at Made in HimmerLand does not prove costly.
The Abingdon golfer dropped three shots in the final four holes as he carded a one-over par 72 to drop down the leaderboard in Farso, Denmark.
Pepperell was one of the first players to begin his round, starting from the tenth at 7.30am GMT, alongside Sweden’s Sebastian Soderberg and Italy’s Renato Paratore.
The Frilford Heath member bogeyed the 12th, but picked up a shot at the 14th to reach the turn at level par.
A birdie at the par-four fourth raised hopes of a big finish, only for the opposite to happen.
The 30-year-old fell back to level par after bogeys at the sixth and seventh were followed by another birdie at the eighth, but he dropped another shot at the ninth.
Pepperell was tied for 64th at midday, but dozens of players were yet to begin their rounds.
