KARL Robinson has extra motivation to guide Oxford United to a famous comeback against Blackpool.

Tomorrow's Sky Bet League One play-off semi-final second leg at Bloomfield Road will be the U's head coach's 599th competitive game as a manager.

It means if United claw back the 3-0 deficit from Tuesday's first leg to triumph, Robinson will bring up match No 600 at Wembley a week on Sunday.

Blackpool are strong favourites to reach the play-off final, but the U's boss hopes the experience gained from 11 years in management will count for something.

Robinson said: “If we win, it gives me the chance to get my 600th game at Wembley.

"Within those 599 games I’ve had a lot of big games.

"I’ve been on the winning side and the losing side and all of those experiences make you who you are.

"I love this sport, I love the club that I work at and my players mean the world to me.

"They never let me down and I can promise you, they will not let me down tomorrow."

Robinson will be in the stands again tomorrow, as he serves game three of a four-match touchline ban.

He has managed United 178 times since joining the club in March 2018, chalking up 75 wins, 47 draws and 56 defeats.

He was at MK Dons from May 2010 until October 2016, taking charge of almost 350 matches, before spending 16 months at Charlton Athletic.
