KIERAN Bird is continuing his Olympic preparations at the European Aquatics Championships.
The Bicester swimmer finished seventh in his 400m freestyle heat in Budapest, his time of 3min 53.97sec well outside the 3.46.00 personal best that booked his spot at July’s Games.
He will line-up in the 800m freestyle heats tomorrow morning.
Bird, who lives and trains in Bath, won the 400m freestyle at last month’s British trials.
The 21-year-old is a former member of Bicester Blue Fins and attended the Cooper School in the north Oxfordshire town.
