CARLY Johns made it three goals in two games as she struck Oxford United Women’s winner against West Bromwich Albion.
The forward’s 26th-minute effort separated the sides in the post-season friendly and followed her double against Watford a week ago.
A strong U’s line-up battled hard against their third-tier counterparts in an even start at Court Place Farm.
United got the all-important opener, though, when Johns was rewarded for hassling the visiting defence as she pounced on a loose ball and beat the goalkeeper.
Rose Kite made an important block in the latter stages of the half to ensure the hosts reached the break in front.
Brittany Jeal was thwarted shortly after the restart during a spell of U’s pressure, but the visitors finished strongly.
One cross that was crying out for a finish was not converted, as United maintained their 100 per cent post-season record.
They visit AFC Wimbledon next Sunday.
