OXFORDSHIRE continued their fine pre-season friendly form with a pair of T20 victories over Hertfordshire at Wormsley.

Opener Tom Cosford set the tone in the first game, hitting six fours and one six on his way to a top score of 38 (27).

Oxon were looking good on 89-2 at the end of the 11th over, but they lost Harrison Ward and Tom Haynes in the space of two balls and eventually had to settle for 133/9.

Hertfordshire raced to 39/1 inside four overs, but were pegged back to 49/3 when Matt Warner and Joe Thomas claimed quickfire wickets.

They gradually fell behind the run rate and could only manage 124/7, giving Oxon a nine-run win.

Hertfordshire won the toss and elected to bat in the second match, but could not start as quickly second time around.

Oxon kept the run rate down and took a steady stream of wickets, with Joe Butcher, Olly Clarke and Harvey Jupp claiming two scalps.

Hertfordshire closed on 142/8, but their opponents made light work of the total and raced to victory in just 14.4 overs.

Shabaaz Alam and Tom Cosford fell in quick succession for 23 and 37 respectively, but Haynes (22*) and Ward (51*) saw Oxon home for a terrific eight-wicket triumph.

It means they have won all four of their pre-season friendlies, with Wiltshire their next opponents on Sunday.

Oxon face their neighbours at Great & Little Tew CC in a behind-closed-doors 50-over match, beginning at 11am.
