BRANDON Barker will have a scan today to assess the severity of his hamstring injury.

The Rangers loanee pulled up just six minutes into Oxford United's 4-1 win over Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday, moments after embarking on a jinking run.

He was replaced by Mide Shodipo as a precautionary measure and the U's will learn more about the issue today.

Head coach Karl Robinson said: “On assessment this morning, it’s not as bad as what we thought.

"At the time it was a precautionary thing.

"There’ll be something there, to what extent we don’t know.

"He’s not our player, so we’ve got to make sure we do everything right.”

It will be a blow to United if they lose Barker for any of their final five games of the Sky Bet League One season.

The 24-year-old has found some consistency in recent weeks and starred in last Saturday's 6-0 win at Crewe Alexandra, when he scored and claimed an assist.
