A FRUSTRATING final round summed up Eddie Pepperell’s disappointing end to the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.

The Abingdon golfer shot a six-over par 77 at Education City GC today, after carding four-over in his third round.

It meant the Frilford Heath member finished the tournament eight-over in a tie for 64th.

Pepperell had been two-under at the halfway stage as he made his first cut of 2021, but the 30-year-old could not back it up.

An otherwise solid third round was spoilt by bogeys at the fourth, fifth, tenth and 11th, but he was less consistent today.

Pepperell dropped three shots at the first two holes, before claiming a birdie at the third.

Any hopes of a revival were dashed by bogeys at the fifth and eighth, although he did pick up shots at the seventh and the ninth.

Pepperell continued to slide down the leaderboard after reaching the turn, carding bogeys at the 11th and the 14th.

A double-bogey at the 16th prevented him from ending the tournament on a high.
