EDDIE Pepperell is well-placed to make the cut at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters - despite an erratic second round.
The Abingdon golfer made par this morning at Education City GC, but shot five birdies, two bogeys and a triple bogey at the par-four eighth.
It left the Frilford Heath member two-under for the tournament, two strokes above the projected cut with most players having finished their round.
Starting from the tenth, Pepperell picked up birdies at the 11th, 12th and 13th holes before running into trouble.
Bogeys at the 17th and 18th saw the 30-year-old fall back to three-over for the tournament at the halfway stage.
But he repeated yesterday's birdies at the second and third holes to move back up the leaderboard and all-but see him through to the weekend.
That was despite taking seven shots to complete the penultimate hole, but it should not prevent Pepperell making the cut for the first time in 2021.
