OXFORD United’s Josh Ruffels and Karl Robinson have missed out on the Sky Bet League One player and manager of the month awards for January.

The duo were nominated after the U’s won all four league games last month, as part of the club’s historic nine-game winning run.

Victories were secured at Burton Albion (5-1), at home to Bristol Rovers (2-0), at Rochdale (4-3), before the win 1-0 win at home to Fleetwood Town.

Left back Ruffels scored twice at Burton, and the winner against Fleetwood, while also ensuring the U’s kept two clean sheets in the league.

However, Rochdale’s Matty Lund, who scored against United in his side’s 4-3 defeat, took the player of the month prize.

He scored four goals and added three assists during January.

Hull City boss Grant McCann pipped Robinson to the manager’s award, after his side won 14 points from seven games in January.
