EDDIE Pepperell could not reach the weekend in his first tournament of 2021.
The Abingdon golfer shot six-over par on day two of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, putting him five-over at the halfway stage.
It left the Frilford Heath member six shots off the projected cut, with fading light forcing some players to abandon their second rounds and return this morning.
It was a similar story on day one, when Pepperell, who turned 30 yesterday, completed just eight holes.
He resumed at two-under and picked up a shot with a birdie at the tenth.
Bogeys at the 12th and 16th saw Pepperell card an opening round of one-under.
It was a platform, but he could not build on it.
Four dropped shots left Pepperell four-over at the 13th, before a double bogey at the penultimate hole ended the day in disappointing fashion.
