EDDIE Pepperell played just eight holes before his opening round at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship was suspended.
The Abingdon golfer had started well and was two-under par, before fading light put paid to the first day’s proceedings.
Playing alongside 2018 European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn and Scotland’s Calum Hill, Pepperell started brilliantly at Abu Dhabi GC.
The 29-year-old birdied the first three holes to shoot up the leaderboard, before a trio of pars.
Pepperell slipped back with a bogey at the seventh, before a par at what proved to be his final hole of the day.
He is due to resume at 8.20am GMT tomorrow.
