CHARLIE Atkinson has been selected for the England Under 20 Elite Player Squad (EPS).
The former Abingdon School pupil will be part of the 32-man set-up for 2021 after impressing for club side Wasps in recent weeks.
While still part of the club's senior academy, the 19-year-old started Wasps' last three games of 2020 at fly-half in Jacob Umaga's absence.
Atkinson, who began his youth career at Oxford, repaid head coach Lee Blackett's faith by scoring tries in the Champions Cup victory over Montpellier on December 18 and the Premiership win over Sale Sharks nine days later.
Many players picked for the England Under 20 pathway go on to represent their country as a full international.
Of the 31 players selected in Eddie Jones' 2019 Rugby World Cup squad, 81 per cent played at this level.
