A POOR opening round left Eddie Pepperell unlikely to make the cut at the DP World Tour Championship.
The Abingdon golfer is joint second-bottom of the leaderboard after an opening round of six-over par.
Teeing off at the first, Pepperell bogeyed the par-five second to get off to a disappointing start.
It only got worse, as the Frilford Heath member double-bogeyed the eighth and dropped another shot at the ninth to reach the turn four-over.
He improved slightly on the back nine, but bogeys at the 13th and 17th left him with plenty of work to do tomorrow.
Pepperell was scheduled to tee off for his second round at 3.25am GMT, alongside fellow Englishman Tom Lewis.
