EDDIE Pepperell finished ten-under par at the Golf in Dubai Championship – but it was only enough to tie for 50th.

The Abingdon golfer was 15 shots off winner Antoine Rozner at Jumeirah Golf Estates in a low-scoring field.

After reaching the halfway point of the tournament at six-under, the Frilford Heath member had a mixed third round.

Starting at the tenth, Pepperell birdied the 12th, but dropped a shot at the following hole and triple-bogeyed the 14th.

This saw him slip back to three-under, but the 29-year-old was flawless for the rest of his round.

A birdie at the 16th was followed by three more at the first, fifth and seventh as he came in under par for the third day in a row.

Pepperell finished the weekend with another round of three-under, but it could have been so much more.

Once again beginning at the tenth, five birdies before the turn saw him shoot up the leaderboard.

He picked up another shot at the third after a bogey at the second, but a double-bogey at the ninth saw the weekend end in frustrating fashion.
