OXFORD United boss Karl Robinson pulled no punches after Swindon Town scored twice in the final ten minutes to claim an unlikely derby victory.

The U's went ahead through Matty Taylor early on and, despite a scrappy second half, looked like they would extend their unbeaten record against their rivals.

But substitute Tom Broadbent scored an 84th-minute equaliser, before assisting Tyler Smith's stoppage-time winner as Swindon claimed a first win over United since 2001.

Robinson had brought on Dan Agyei, Mide Shodipo and Mark Sykes in the second half, with the latter giving the ball away in the build up to the visitors' first goal.

United's head coach was scathing in his criticism after the Sky Bet League One clash and felt the replacements weakened his side.

He said: “The substitutions made no impact. I think we went backwards.

"I can’t protect my players today.

"You make changes to make your team better and I think ours made our team worse.

"The goal at the end is just disgusting."

He added: "We put on Dan Agyei who played wonderfully well on Tuesday, Mark Sykes who everyone tells me is a very good player with loads of energy and they let people run past them.

"We put Mide on and I don’t see what he’s given us."

Swindon's winner came when Smith reached the dropping ball ahead of Simon Eastwood and Robinson chose not to comment on his goalkeeper's error.

Visiting boss John Sheridan had thrown on Broadbent, normally a centre back, up front and the change saw United retreat.

Robinson said: "Maybe I’m being a bit individual in my criticism and there were some aspects of our game where we were very rugged.

"I don’t understand why we played 20 or 30 yards deeper.

"When they go with the big guy up front the only way you can defend that is by keeping your line high.

"They’ve got nothing to lose in the last 15 minutes.”
