EDDIE Pepperell maintained his impressive form with an excellent opening round at the Scottish Championship.
The Abingdon golfer carded a blemish-free four-under par 68 at Fairmount St Andrews to be among the front runners.
It continued a run which has seen him claim top-ten finishes in his last two events on the European Tour.
Starting at the tenth among the early starters, Pepperell picked up birdies at the 15th and 18th to reach the turn two-under for his round.
They were followed by further shots picked up on the sixth and eighth to seal a fine round with no bogeys.
Spain's Adrian Otaegui leads the way on nine-under.
Pepperell's second round begins at 12.15pm on Friday.
