Wantage Town are aiming to put last season behind them as they kick-off their Emirates FA Cup journey tomorrow.

The Alfredians host Windsor in the preliminary round and look very different to the side that was

rock-bottom of BetVictor Southern League Division 1 Central when the 2019/20 campaign was cancelled due to coronavirus.

Only four players from last season remain, with manager Matt Biddle making a host of signings and overhauling his backroom staff.

Wantage have also invested in VEO video technology, which will record every game.

Biddle said: “There have been a lot of changes compared to last season, with the aim and effort to bring as much success as possible.

“Behind the scenes, there has been a massive effort to put things in place so we are able to continue to run a football club.”

Meanwhile, Kidlington entertain Thame United in an Oxfordshire derby, with new signings Ryan Markham, Harry Whitehead, Lewis Gabbidon, Harry Sturgess and Jack Dunmall all set to feature for the home side.

Their opponents signed centre back Harry Tucker this week.

Didcot Town are heading for a sell-out as they welcome fans back to Loop Meadow for their tie with Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

The Railwaymen had just 40 tickets left on Wednesday night, but none will be available on the day.

Elsewhere, North Leigh have a trip to Buckinghamshire to face Marlow, while Easington Sports’ reward for beating Tring Athletic in the extra-preliminary round is a trip to Dunstable Town.

Away from the Cup, hosts Banbury United and Oxford City will want to bounce back when they clash in their latest pre-season friendly.

The Puritans lost 1-0 at home to Brackley Town last weekend, while City went down 2-0 at Bracknell Town.
