ROY Parkinson became Eynsham Croquet Club’s first 10-plus handicap champion at an event aimed at attracting fledgling players.
The competition was set up to introduce new members and high handicappers to competitive croquet, with eight entrants taking part.
They played 30 games throughout the day in a league format, with Parkinson, above right, a worthy winner after beating all of his rivals.
The club reopened in May amid a surge of interest in the sport during lockdown.
