ONE golfer is aiming to complete 72 hours by mid-morning on Monday.

Studley Wood assistant professional Adam Hawkins is taking part in the Big Golf Race.

It is in aid of Prostate Cancer, a charity close to the 35-year-old’s heart after his father Roger was diagnosed with the disease in 2016.

Hawkins, who is now into year two as a professional, is an ambassador for the charity and is 80 per cent of the way to his £5,000 target.

He said: “It’s a big part of my life and the money is important to keep their research going.”

Hawkins plans to start at 4.30am and run between shots, with the aim of completing the challenge in five or six hours.
