BRADLEY Smith finished out of the points in a disrupted MotoGP in Austria.

As with last week’s race on the same circuit, a red flag was needed to halt proceedings after a crash.

It left a 12-lap sprint once the track was clear, which left Smith, from Forest Hill, struggling down in 19th place.

He said: “Many riders with new tyres managed to maintain a pace that was unsustainable for us.

“I see the glass half full after this weekend.

“We have definitely grown and I hope to be able to confirm that on a track like Misano that is kinder to us.”

The race was won by KTM’s Miguel Oliveira and the season continues in Italy on September 12.
