A game against a fellow third tier side should mean the game is not needed to be moved - as it clashes with an international weekend, there was scope to change the date if were drawn against a team from the Championship.

The tie is due to be played behind closed doors as part of coronavirus restrictions.

If United have another run in the competition it will mean a packed start to the season, with the second, third and fourth rounds also held in September.

The EFL Trophy groups will be completed from 1.30pm today.

United already know they will face Bristol Rovers and Walsall.
