OXFORD City Stars have added another exciting young talent to their roster with the signing of Ethan Mayoh.

The 19-year-old featured for Blackburn Hawks and Altrincham Aces last season, having started out with Manchester Phoenix.

He also spent four years at the Okanagan academy in Swindon, where his ability earned him regular selections in the South West conference teams.

Mayoh said: “I’m excited to have signed for Oxford, it’s a great club that is well respected.

“I’m really looking forward to starting and getting back on the ice.”

Mayoh is the second 19-year-old to sign for head coach Dean Birrell, following former England youth international Jay Warren’s loan move from Swindon Wildcats.

“The young players we are bringing into Oxford is quite exciting, they’re quick, confident and ambitious,” the Stars boss said.

“Ethan joins us highly recommended by several coaches in the game.

“He has had a great upbringing in hockey and is quick, a good skater and strong on the puck.

“Ethan is another player who had interest from other clubs, and I’m pleased he has signed for Oxford.

“The opportunity to come and develop his game and be part of the first team was a big factor.

“I’m looking forward to working with Ethan and helping develop his game.”
