There was a shock as third-placed Shears lost 5-4 away to derby rivals Goodlake in the Oxfordshire Super League.

Former Goodlake player Martin Turnbull got Shears on the board with the opener. But the hosts hit back with wins from Jim Pryde (24.24) and Andy Povey.

Kevin Wilkins (Shears) levelled the scores before Les Radford and Keith Webb put the hosts on the brink of a memorable win.

Shears' Paul Cox and Dave Exell (26.07) set up a tense finale by making it 4-4 before Andy Wood (26.16) played his best darts of the season to seal it for Goodlake.

Three Tuns A kept up the pressure on leaders Chinnor with a 7-2 win at home to Hundred Acres.

Things started well for the visitors as Joe Palmer won the opening set 3-2.

However, Tuns turned up the heat to take the next six sets through Barry Stratford, Dave Essex, Paul Freeman, Nigel Russell (25.91), Ronnie Anderson (25.47) and Peter Fisher.

Alan Butler won for Acres before Phil Addison (28.60) wrapped up the match for the home side.

Ade Larner was in sparkling form with a 31.98 average for Masons, but it was not enough as they went down 6-3 at home to Three Tuns B.

Brian Innes gave the hosts a flying start by winning his set 3-0.

The visitors took the next two sets through Oxon youth player Mark Burns and Mark Stocker (23.57).

Larner entered the fray, taking his legs in 18, 12 and 17 darts - including a 180 and a 100-plus finish - to level the match for the hosts.

Joe Haines and Paul Cohen took the next two sets for the visitors before Charlie Buckingham got Masons' third Sean Holley and John Russell closed the match out for Tuns, who go fourth in the table.

Shelley entertained White Lion, who took the spoils 5-4 after racing into a 3-0 lead through Kit Young, John Fowler and Graham Manning.

In the other match, Chinnor beat Shelswell Inn 6-3.
