SEVERAL leagues have followed the EFL's decision yesterday to bring in a suspension to their competition in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

Oxford United Women have become the latest side to be affected, with their FA Women's National League Southern Premier trip to Chichester City tomorrow being postponed.

Oxford City still have a game this weekend, though, while the official advice from the FA for grassroots football is to continue as planned - although they do support any leagues which want to postpone action.

Here is the situation in football this weekend as things stand:

Leagues involving Oxfordshire sides affected by coronavirus measures

  • League 1: Oxford United (suspended until at least April 3).
  • BetVictor Southern League: Banbury United, Didcot Town, Kidlington, North Leigh, Thame United, Wantage Town (suspended for the next two weekends)
  • Uhlsport Hellenic League (suspended until March 31)
  • North Berks League (suspended for this weekend)
  • FA Women's National League Southern Premier: Chichester City v Oxford United

Fixtures involving Oxfordshire sides still on

  • Vanarama National League South: Hampton & Richmond Borough v Oxford City (Saturday, 3pm)
  • Witney & District League (although there may be some postponements if individual teams are affected)

Other sport

Rugby Union: None of Oxfordshire's top club sides were due to play this weekend anyway. Several have issued guidance, but for the moment the plan is to continue as planned.

Formula 1: which includes three teams from Oxfordshire, has scrapped this weekend's opening round of the season in Australia.

The next two races have been postponed, while the fourth round in China had already been cancelled.

Ice hockey: Oxford City Stars have this afternoon announced their home game with Invicta Dynamos on Sunday has been postponed. One of the Dynamos players is self-isolating.

Hockey: The advice for community hockey from the governing body is to carry on as scheduled.
