OXFORD City Stars face London Raiders 2 at Oxpens tonight (7.30pm) buoyed by a convincing home win at the weekend.
Paul Gore’s side saw off Cardiff Fire 7-1 on Sunday – giving the new head coach five points from six since he took the reins at Oxpens.
They have a rare midweek match, after the original fixture was postponed last month due to Storm Ciara.
Stars are building some form ahead of the end of season play-offs and Gore is in positive mood.
He said: “The boys are findings some confidence at both ends of the ice, which is great coming into the play-offs.
“We now have back-to-back home games this week to build on our progress.
“The fans have always helped make a difference and they’ve been brilliant for us.”
Fans were treated to a goal-fest on Sunday as Stars hit seven against Cardiff, with braces from Mike Whillock, Joey Edwards and Josh Oliver, and a goal from Matt Lawday .
Gore was encouraged by what he saw as the result kept Stars seventh in English National League South Division 1.
He said: “We had a slow start to the game, but as we got into it we played some really good hockey."
