JOHN Patey claimed victory in the final leg to seal Democrats Club’s place in the last four of the Jolly Electrical League Cup with a 3-3 aggregate triumph over holders Vikings A, writes PETE EWINS.
Allan Lacey (6,360) put Vikings ahead, before Billy Hill (6,810) levelled the scores in the Oxford & District League competition.
Alan Oliver (5,060) and Lacey (6,030) made it 3-1, but Hill (10,020) pulled one back.
Despite a shaky start, Patey’s winning break of 6,500 secured a 30,910-20,230 aggregate win.
