CHALLOW Cricket Club stayed on track for the Section 2 crown with a 7-2 win at Chequers Inn B.

Brian Grant put the visitors ahead in the Cowley Workers ODDA clash, but Chequers hit back with Chris and Andy Webb.

That was as good as it got for the hosts, as Martyn Fowler, Simon Davison and James Green all notched for Challow, who swept the pairs 3-0.

Cricketers Arms beat long-time leaders Cowley Workers C for the second week, this time 5-4 in Section 3.

It leaves Cricketers two points ahead of George Bar A, who won 5-4 at Littlemore RFC.

The Workers are six points further back, with a game in hand.

Just two points separate the top three in Section 4 heading into the final fortnight.

George Lounge are top, just ahead of New Club and Donnington Community Centre A.

Witney Snooker Club preserved their slender lead at the top of Section 1 in the ladies’ competition.

They were made to work hard at bottom side Bletchingdon Social Club, before coming out 6-3 winners.

The first four matches were shared – Kim Reynolds and Paulette Guy’s wins for the visitors cancelled out by Suzanne Pollard and Katie Cork.

But Caroline Caldicutt and Carol Gasser saw the leaders finish strongly, before a 2-1 pairs success.
