SIX Chinnor players have committed their futures to the club ahead of tomorrow’s crunch visit of Rosslyn Park.

Will Harries, Laurence May, Joe Rees, Willie Ryan, Nick Selway and James Tyas have all agreed new contracts to keep them at Kingsey Road until the end of next season.

All six have played key roles in the Oxfordshire side’s rise to third in National League 1 and director of rugby Matt Williams believes it sends a statement to their rivals.

He said: “Just off the back of the RFU announcing their cutting funding at the Championship level, we show the passion and desire to keep progressing with the spine of our team re-signing.”

It is a timely boost for Chinnor ahead of tomorrow’s game, with their opponents one position and five points above them.

Both sides are refreshed after a free weekend and Williams wants his players to enjoy the occasion.

He said: “Enjoyment has been the key word since Christmas. We’re playing with the shackles off at the moment and it’s working.

“The pressure is firmly on Rosslyn Park this weekend. They’re on the coat-tails of Richmond.

“If they lose here their game next Friday against Richmond is kind of immaterial, so they need to get five points to keep pushing. All we have to do is play and have some fun.”

Chinnor are without Matt Marley (broken ribs) and long-term absentees Charley Robinson (ankle), George Oliver (knee) and Bertie Hopkin (back), while Tom Fidler is on international duty.

Centre Chris Elder (ankle) is in contention for his first appearance since December.

National League 2 South leaders Henley Hawks face a tough test at Clifton.

Head coach Luke Allen makes three changes, with props Brad Cook and Rory Mason returning, as does scrum half Ewan Fenley.

Another No 9, Will Crow, makes the bench after joining from Richmond until the end of the season.

Oxford Harlequins make four changes for the South West 1 East trip to Buckingham.

Jack Crowe and Harry Burn are back in at flanker and scrum half respectively, while George Amphlett and Richard Thomas are the centre pairing.

Southern Counties North table-toppers Witney are without Matt Webb, Gareth Campbell and Arron Lambourne for the visit of Reading Abbey.

Dan Coombes makes his first start of the season for Southern Counties South leaders Grove against Swindon, with Ben Law also returning.
