SOL Campbell wants a big push at Oxford United tomorrow at the end of Southend United’s own busy month.

The Shrimpers beat Lincoln City at the start of February but have lost the five games since then to slip 15 points from safety in Sky Bet League One.

While the U’s have played two extra fixtures in the past four weeks, the visitors are big outsiders to take anything from the game.

Campbell told the Southend Echo: “It’s been a heavy load for the lads but we’ve come through that now and have another game on Saturday.

“We’re up against another very mobile team who are playing some excellent football.

“It’s going to be difficult, but we have to put our best foot forwards, see how it goes and go for it.”

The former England international doubted whether the speculation over Karl Robinson’s position this week would have an impact.

But the visitors will look to exploit any disruption.

Campbell said: “Sometimes when you look at it, anything like that we take a little away.

“People are focused but it might take a little smidge off your performance.

“At Southend we have to try and take anything positive that comes our way.”
