KIERAN Day bagged a hat-trick on debut as Oxfordshire Under 16s drew 3-3 at Somerset.

The visitors were 2-0 down at half-time in the South West Counties clash, before the youngster struck twice.

Somerset regained their lead, but Day scored from the penalty spot to secure the draw.

Meanwhile, the county’s girls lost 3-0 to Lancashire in the English Schools FA Under 14 PlayStation Inter County Trophy semi-finals at Court Place Farm.

In the only Oxford Mail Girls League fixture to go ahead, Isabella Winnifrith fired a hat-trick as Headington Youth beat Witney Vikings 5-0.

Laura Prior and Isabelle Thacker also found the net.

Elsewhere, Aston’s Under 12s unveiled their new kit, with help from sponsor Vicky’s After School and Holiday Club.

The team, who were only formed last September, are holding free ‘try-out’ sessions every Wednesday at 6.30pm during the school term.
