A RELENTLESS Oxford United powered into the Oxfordshire Women’s Cup final with a 12-0 win against Oxford City.

There were nine different scorers for the U’s in the derby at Court Place Farm.

United boss Liam Gilbert said: “Fair play to Oxford City, they kept going right until the end.

“I was proud of the way that we just kept playing, doing things the right way and there were not individuals out there – it was a team performance.”

He added: “We’ve been looking forward to getting back to league action, the girls know what to focus on and what to do in the league.

“We’ve put some good performances in but we need to get the wins, starting this weekend at Gillingham.”

Cheryl Williams got the ball rolling in the tenth minute.

Immy Lancaster doubled the lead from the edge of the penalty area, before Emily Allen made it 3-0.

Lancaster, on her return from injury, struck again and Williams quickly also grabbed her second of the game.

Georgia Timms got in on the action to give United a 6-0 lead at the break.

They were similarly relentless in the second half.

Daisy McLachlan, Sophie Baker and Kayleigh Hines made it 9-0 before the hour mark.

Carly Johns, Allen and Georgia Clifford completed the scoring in the latter stages.
