NIGEL Clough has warned his side to beware a response from Oxford United tomorrow night.

Burton Albion host the U's, who were hammered 4-0 at Peterborough United on Saturday.

The Brewers drew 0-0 with Gillingham and are now just two points behind their opponents.

But Clough is wary of a United line-up attempting to make up for their disappointment.

He told Burton's official website: "We would love the three points tomorrow, but Oxford have had as good a run as anybody recently and came so close to knocking Newcastle out of the FA Cup.

"The reverse they had at Peterborough makes us fear a backlash as they are a good team.

"Sometimes you give your team one after exploits in the cup and extra time as it’s hard to raise it again so soon after but I’m sure they will be back on it against us.”

Scott Fraser, who scored a hat-trick as Burton won the reverse fixture 4-2 in August, is a doubt for the hosts with a calf problem.
