OXFORDSHIRE were well beaten 26-13 by BDO
Inter-Counties Division 1 leaders West Midlands.
The early exchanges were tight, as Nicola Curzon, Caroline Caldicott and Babs Manning earned a 3-3 draw in the ladies’ B clash.
But the visitors trailed 11-7 overnight as the men’s B side went down to an 8-4 defeat.
Mark Laverack, Darren Hammond, Dan Smith and a great performance from Graham Earwicker provided Oxon’s only highlights.
The away side needed a strong start to day two, but instead fell further behind.
Deta Hedman and Denise Pape were on target, but otherwise West Midlands were too strong in the ladies’ A matches.
The result was put beyond doubt as the hosts won the first five men’s A contests.
Tom Baughan stopped the rot, but only Ade Larner, Sean Holley and Terry Wood followed suit.
Oxfordshire, who are third bottom, next host Humberside on February 29-March 1.
