FLORENCE Park Community Centre A missed out on the chance to go clear in Section 1 of the Cowley Workers ODDA Winter League.
It continued a terrific title battle in the ladies’ section, where three points separate the top four.
Carol Bowman and Dawn Allsopp put hosts Florence in charge, but Louise Stratford and Debbie Stevens levelled for Cricketers Arms.
Lydia Harper restored the lead, but the struggling visitors hit back.
Although Florence Park took the pairs 2-1 to win 5-4, it only saw them move level on points with leaders Witney Snooker Club.
Red Lion moved fourth with a 6-3 success at home to Bletchingdon Social Club.
In the men’s competition, Didcot Railway club entertained Section 1 rivals Croft Bar.
After falling behind to wins from Michael Wilkes and Rob Thorne, the home side roared back.
Stuart Rideout, Jake Carter, Paul Godding and Alex Ball gave them a 4-2 lead, and despite losing the pairs 2-1 they finished 5-4 ahead.
Runaway Premier leaders Blackbird Leys Bowls Club made it nine wins from nine matches with a 7-2 triumph at Kidlington Green Social Club.
