DARREN Ferguson is looking forward to locking horns with old sparring partner Karl Robinson again tomorrow.

This is not the first time the pair have been in charge of promotion rivals, Ferguson’s Peterborough beating Robinson’s MK Dons in the Sky Bet League One play-offs nine years ago.

But the U’s two 1-0 wins in August give Robinson a 7-6 advantage in terms of victories from their 14 meetings.

Posh go into this clash in better form, with four straight wins taking them to within a point of the automatic promotion places.

Ferguson told the Peterborough Telegraph: “Oxford did well to stick with Karl (Robinson) when they were going through a tough time and he has now built his own side, and they are very strong.

“Karl’s teams always play good football, which is why I always look forward to them.

“We’ve had some great battles in the past especially when he was at MK Dons, but we’ve always got on well.

“It will be another battle on Saturday.”

He added: “It’s a game against a promotion rival so it’s obviously massive.

“But if we play like we have been playing and maintain our strong home form we have a good chance of another win.”
