ABINGDON Vale youngsters were in glittering form at the Oxfordshire & North Buckinghamshire Counties Championship.
Elizabeth Elliott, Luci Foxall-Yap, Rhiannon Lillistone and Hollie Dickinson won silver in the girls’ 10-12 years medley relay, setting a club record.
The 13-14 years team of Amber Freeman, Bethan Lillistone, Liesl De Reuver and Kelsey Sym were third in the freestyle and medley relays.
It built on the bronze won a week earlier by the boys’ 13-14 years freestyle relay team of Edgar Stepliuk, Nathaniel Wornham, Ned Pullen and Owen Clark.
Witney and District’s girls also performed impressively.
The 11-12 A team of Katie Franklin, Hattie Lever, Beth Lefort and Ellie Blake claimed bronze in their freestyle final and achieved a new club relay record on their way to fourth in the medley.
The 13-14 A quartet of Erin Stewart, Sienna Saunders, Maya Saldana and Freya Warriner just missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in both their relays.
Henry Purcell, Evan Smith, Keaton Best and Isaac Perks comprised the boys 11-12 team that finished eighth in the medley and freestyle.
Ten swimmers competed in the individual 800m and 1,500m freestyle events, with Hugo Jinks seventh in the shorter distance.
