ROB Hall has signed a new contract at Oxford United, but will spend the rest of the season out on loan at Forest Green Rovers.

The winger’s previous deal, agreed last year, expired in the summer.

After an injury-hit two years, Hall has featured regularly this season, scoring six goals in 24 appearances.

But he has only started three games in Sky Bet League One, making him an obvious candidate as boss Karl Robinson looked for players to go out on loan this month.

It was needed to help balance the players brought in during the January transfer window, with Nathan Holland and Marcus Browne pushing Hall down the pecking order.

Robinson told the club's website: "He still has a future here, that’s why we are happy to see him sign a new deal until the end of next season, so this loan works for all parties and we’ll keep a close eye on how he does."

He joins a Rovers side ninth in Sky Bet League Two, just a point outside the play-off positions, and can make his debut at Macclesfield Town tomorrow.

Hall said: "I’m fit again and loving my football, but it’s difficult when you are only getting chances here and there.

"It’s great to get my future sorted for next year and I’m looking forward to joining up with Forest Green."
